FAQs & Good-to-Knows

What is a brand identity anyway?

I’m so glad you asked!

What kinds of businesses do you work with?

Rad ones, mostly! Any business looking for a colorful, quirky vibe, but especially creative entrepreneurs and those marketing to Millennial and Gen Z women/lgbt folks. I especially love a business with a strong sense of humor and progressive agenda.

Do you do brand extensions or rebrands?

Absolutely! We can keep the parts that work, fix the parts that don’t, and expand your library of assets so you have a complete and usable brand suite.

What’s the difference?

A brand refresh is the thing for you if you have existing branding that you’re happy with, but you’d like to spruce it up and expand on it. Maybe you only have a logo, or your logo only exists as a 500px jpg, and you’d like it to be more flexible and useful. For refreshes, the concepting phases are accelerated and we pretty much jump right into making the assets. In a rebrand, we’re starting everything from scratch and going through the whole custom branding process.

Do I need to know exactly what I want my branding to look like?

Not at all! In fact, it’s better if you don’t have a specific logo idea in your head (if you do, I’m probably not the best designer for you - this works best when I can let my creative process run free!) What I will need to know, though, is A. What your brand is all about, B. Who your brand serves and how, and C. What you - and more importantly, your target customers - are drawn to aesthetically. Making a moodboard or Pinterest board where you can collect visuals that “feel” like you want your brand to feel is a great starting place (and helps me out immensely when I’m trying to nail the right vibe!) .

Do you use stock imagery or other purchased elements?

The only purchased elements I use in my brand identities are fonts. Many designers use premade elements as short cuts, but I will only incorporate those if you request specific ones. I want your branding to be 100% unique to you, and it’s never fun realizing someone else has the exact same icon in their logo as you!

What do your packages cost?

My fully custom branding packages start at $2000. Upgrades and add-ons are available depending on what assets you’d like to have in your arsenal. Logo Bar brands are available at a lower cost, because I’m able to make them much quicker. I try to keep my prices at the affordable end of the industry standard, to keep them accessible to small businesses while also paying myself a fair living wage.
